As one of the main focus areas of the house we have created a sophisticated approach when selecting pieces of furniture to compliment the space. Firstly, we have selected a deep 3 seater tan leather sofa.
The tan leather is used as both a feature and an item that is easy to maintain. We have added some neutral armchairs to balance out the colours with a pop of teal through the cushions. a terrazzo side table adds in an extra texture along with the ribbed oak and blended neutral rug.
A soft artwork was added in the help balance out the colours in the space and some decor items where added for some further layering.
Adding a buffet into the nook opposite the lounge room is a great way to add in stylist storage and fill in a specifically shaped wall. Adding in a solid oak buffet helps tie the oak elements found in the furniture throughout the house whilst keeping the space looking open.
We have added some layering of decor and a lamp to help layer up the piece and a specifically coloured artwork to help tie in the colours found in the lounge room and dinning areas.
Our priority in this space was to make sure the walkway looking aesthetically balanced and functional. By using a simple dining chair that can be tucked completely under the dining table it allowed the walkway to the lounge to function efficiently.
Adding in bar stools across from these we made sure they didn't have any backing to help balance the seating in this space. Cushions have been added to the bench seat to bring in some depth and colour that ties in with the rest of the house. Decorative pieces have been added as another layer to finish off the space.
We have added an easy to tuck chair to for ease walking through to the kitchen with a tan leather finish to continue the tan colours throughout the space.
Various decor objects have been added to stack on both the desk and shelving
We have added in additional storage in this space as discussed. we have kept it white and minimal to avoid it being the main feature of the entry.
A large mirror has been added as mirrors both create the illusion of a bigger space and work great in an entryway.
Decorative items have once again been added as an additional layer.
We have kept the outdoor space white and light to ensure the space wont look crowded and will give the perception of a large open area. We have added in some large planter pots to be scattered around the space with live plant recommendations.
Cushions and lanterns have been added to the furniture pieces to finish them off and create a more cohesive look. the dining table is also extendable if needed for larger groups.
A simplistic approach to this space as we know bags, shoes and ever other school item will fill this area.
We have a long bench-seat to cater for putting on shoes in the morning and taking them off in the afternoon. Light timber hooks have been added to match in with the house but also provide hanging space for school bags. Lastly, a white shoe storage unit to pack away shoes to hide unnecessary clutter.
Creating an environment that is both practically but ties in with the furniture selections downstairs we have kept in the oak, and modern elements in this space.
A book shelf has been added to go onto the wall when entering the space for personal books and belongings to display. The 2 seater sofa has been added for additional people to use the space like kids or family members.
Pops of colour have been added in through cushions and artwork to give the space some life.
