Entry Room
In Entry & Family room we added a comfortable sofa and armchair for the main house and continued the rustic look with the Barn Entry. We utilised the existing coffee table and side table to save budget and we used the tv unit from the Living room as it flowed through
We offered our customer ahave a couple of options when placing the furniture, The sofa and other pieces would be placed around the tv. Sometimes you need to play around with your furniture a little bit to come to the layout and flow that feels right.
Adding a rug to these type of spaces really help shape the room and create clear designated areas. A rug not only adds texture to a room but also keeps your furniture from floating. When buying rugs, make sure to select the correct size. You want all furniture to sit on top of your rug or at least the two front furniture legs.
You'll see that our colour scheme is reflected in the soft finishes in this room. Be advised that when buying throws and cushions, you shop for different textures, sizes and shapes. The same goes for decorative pieces. While often overlooked they do really add that extra complimentary layer and complete your room.
We suggest bringing in multiple (artificial) plants and flowers to bring some greenery into the spaces as they will make your rooms more lively.
The artwork in all of the moodboards was selected based on what the customer already owned. We understand artwork is very personal, so advised our customer to shop around for what they like. Maybe have a look at 'Middle of Nowhere', we feel they have pieces very similar to what you might like. In our designs we replaced all the ceiling fans with ones that match the coastal farmhouse style better.
Living Room
We added new pieces of furniture (sofa, armchair, coffee table, entertainment unit) as requested to suit the main theme of the home. The main focus was on more comfort and lighting up the room, but keeping the colour scheme.
We also added some floor pillows as a suggestion to create more seating options for the kids. We changed the rug to a lighter colour, but kept the texture.
Master Bedroom
For the master bedroom we added a grey carpet and painted the panelling in the same colour as your walls.
We came up with a design based on your inspiration board. Because you already have the panelling on the wall we would suggest getting rid of the bedhead. You could use it in one of the bedrooms in the barn. Same goes for your bed side tables. Installing a floating shelf across the entire length of your wall adds interest and creates extra storage space.
By adding throw pillows and a throw you can layer the bed to give that more inviting feel.
Bedroom1
In this bedroom we've only added ideas for decorative items, lamps, linen and a rug to give the room that farmhouse feel. By using white linen for the bed, you can keep the space bright and open.
Selecting a quilt that's a size bigger than your bedframe you add volume. Again we suggest adding different textures, shapes and colours by using throw pillows and a throw for layering the bed and creating more depth. In the corner of this room we would get rid of the mirror and add a chair and artwork to complete the space.

Outdoor
We selected items that will add texture and layering to the area: rug, cushions, bean bags, ... It's a little less farmhouse and has a bit more coastal feel. But by using similar colours in your decorative items and soft furnishings you can still make the connection with what you have created inside your house.
We've added an entire new outdoor dining setting, but the chairs would also work perfectly with your existing timber dining table. Adding string lights or fairy lights to decorate your space will set the mood for any occasion.
